Site guide

Your own map of what exists and how it connects. Linked from the site footer, but excluded from the sitemap and noindex'd - it's not meant to be found, just reachable.

How content actually flows

  1. Lexicon_MASTER_current.docx - the canonical 631-concept text, including the front-matter systems (Core Countermeasure Library, Checklist, Break Glass, Convergence Traps, Transfer Map, Framework Failures). These no longer get their own site pages - see /toolkit below.
  2. Parsed into Postgres (cogniq-app, database cogniq) - table biases holds every concept + metadata; table posts holds the rich published write-up once a concept is finished.
  3. The bridge (cogniq-app/scripts/export-to-site.mjs) reads only the published posts and writes them into this site: one markdown file per trap in src/content/traps/, plus it syncs which map nodes are marked revealed in public/lexicon-graph.json.
  4. Every page on this site reads from those two outputs (the graph JSON for structure/names, the content collection for published bodies) - nothing here talks to Postgres directly.

Current state: 203 of 631 concepts are published. Every panel in the Toolkit (Checklist, Break Glass, Convergence, Transfer) already speaks the full 631-concept vocabulary - a concept name only becomes a clickable link once its concept page exists (handled centrally by src/lib/concepts.ts /ConceptLink.astro, so nothing ever links to a 404). Everything else renders as plain or muted text until it's published. That's why some panels will look sparse right now - they fill in automatically as more concepts go live, no rebuild of the tool itself required.

Home & browse

  • Home (/)

Marketing / cold-visitor on-ramp: hero, stats row, "Today's correction" card, THE FIELD volume grid, THE SIGNAL section, HOW IT WORKS, weekly email capture. Decorative HeroMap canvas in the background (not the interactive engine). Absorbed the old /start page - it 301s here now.

  • Map (/map)

The actual interactive graph. Constellation (curated static layout) by default, toggle to Graph (live d3-force "power view"), MobileMap drill-down on phones. Search, volume filters, and keyboard nav - Tab to focus, arrow keys to browse, Enter/Space to open, Escape to exit.

  • Lexicon (/lexicon)

Plain-text index of all 631 concepts, same data as the map. Volume and Tier views, plus a Core 20 section (old /core-20 redirects to #core-20).

  • Origins (/origins)

Registry of the people who discovered, coined, or popularised each concept - built from the Credit line in biases.raw_entry (cogniq-app/scripts/gen-origins.mjs). Each person card lists their concepts (live ones link out); each concept page links back here.

Tools

  • Decision Audit (/tool)

Interactive: 6 questions, matched client-side against all 631 concepts, outputs the likely concept + a ready-to-run AI audit prompt. No sign-up, no server call.

  • Toolkit (/toolkit)

Single tabbed instrument now, not 5 separate pages: Protocols (the Core Countermeasure library, #CL-N anchors), Checklist, Break Glass, Convergence, Transfer, Framework Failures. Every old standalone URL (/checklist, /break-glass, /convergence-traps, /transfer-map, /framework-failures) 301-redirects to its panel here.

About / utility

  • About

What this is, sourcing standard, contact - plus FAQ (#faq, old /faq redirects here) and "Reading the badges" / epistemics (#reading, old /epistemics redirects here).

  • Privacy

What the site collects (very little).

  • Concept pages

Individual concept pages. Only PUBLISHED concepts have one - currently 203 of 631.

Shared pieces (not pages - used across pages)

  • GraphMap / MobileMap / AdvancedGraph

Three renderers of the same graph data, all on /map, sharing one canvas engine (src/lib/graph-canvas.ts). GraphMap = Constellation (curated static layout), MobileMap = phone drill-down, AdvancedGraph = Graph "power view" with a d3-force relax pass + node inspect panel. All three now take keyboard input (tabindex + arrow keys + Enter/Escape), not just mouse.

  • HeroMap

A separate, bespoke canvas used only on the homepage - decorative background, not the interactive graph engine above. Reads the same lexicon-graph.json but doesn't share code with graph-canvas.ts.

  • ConceptLink / concepts.ts

The single resolver every tool uses to turn a concept name into a link (if published) or muted text (if not). Change linking behaviour here, once, not per-tool.

  • NextUnlock

Countdown + subscribe CTA, on concept pages (previously buried inside the map HUD, invisible on mobile).

  • EmailCapture

Owned-list capture, four context-aware offers. Provider-agnostic - until an ESP is wired up (src/lib/capture.ts), submissions fall back to the contextual Substack link.
